ARTHUR SALM (1904–1988) was released from the Dachau concentration camp in 1936 with great difficulty and eventually emigrated to the USA. Not only his collaboration with Carl Auböck, but his entire oeuvre, especially the Mood Moderne cutlery, which won the Good Design Award from the Museum of Modern Art in 1953, remains exemplary to this day.
