HANNE VEDEL
Born in 1933, Hanne Vedel is one of Denmark’s most famous weavers. After training in Denmark and studying in Finland, she founded her own workshop in 1955 and took over Paula Trock’s Spindegården company in 1970. She received numerous prizes and produced many textiles for the Danish Royal Family, the Danish Parliament, the Danish National Bank and the Imperial Hospital in Copenhagen. Her work is also well known in Japan and Korea, and in 2015 works by her were shown in the Danish Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. Vintage weaving works can be found, for example, at Design Miami Basel – or at Wohnkultur66. She only uses natural raw materials such as silk, wool and cotton. She cooperated with Finn Juhl at an early stage and was finally responsible for the upholstery fabrics and curtains for the restoration of the UN Trusteeship Council in New York – designed by Finn Juhl – in 2012.

HANNE VEDEL
